In this piece, we see a familiar scene rendered with care and detail that only a studied master like Toby Bluth can create. The Band Concert is the 73rd Mickey Mouse short made by the Walt Disney Studios, and was the first of Mickey’s cartoons to be in colour. We meet Mickey as he conducts a band playing the William Tell Overture. Things go well until Donald Duck arrives and tries to join in the fun. Mickey has none of it and breaks Donald’s flute. However, Donald has come prepared with a seeminly endless supply of flutes up his sleeve!
