“Despite all the ups and downs, the tough times and the struggles, there's nothing like the feeling of accomplishment when signing a painting you've just completed. I just couldn't imagine doing anything else for a living.”
This beautiful fine art giclee on canvas is limited to just 195 pieces worldwide. The canvas is ready to hang with complimentary stretcher framing. All Disney Fine Art comes complete with a detailed Certificate of Authenticity and each piece is individually hand-numbered and signed by the artist.
Based on the tall tale that Walt was inspired by a mouse that visited his drawing table in Kansas City, this Disney Fine Art piece imagines the first meeting of mouse and man and sees Mike Kupka celebrate the legendary moment with a beautiful collage of Mickey's memorable movie roles. The collage features moments from Plane Crazy, The Brave Little Tailor, Lonesome Ghosts, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Mickey's Christmas Carol and The Prince and the Pauper.
In addition, we see the legendary Walt Disney touching the finger of Mickey Mouse - a scene reminiscent of Michelangelo's painting in the Sistine Chapel. In the background we see the many forms that Mickey has progressed through over the years, from Steamboat Willie to the more modern, full colour rendering that we see in the foreground with Walt.
This breathtaking piece, with its time-spanning portrayals of Mickey and its incredibly skilled composition, will most certainly delight people of all ages throughout time.
